Maestro Manuel Rufino, MAISC, and the Golden Drum community invites you to our Annual Winter Solstice Celebration 2016. This year, our celebration is a dedication to the Water is Life campaign and all the courageous men, women, children, elders and Veterans standing to protect all the waters of the world, especially those in Standing Rock, North Dakota.
The night will showcase various artists and musicians, offering their songs and prayers to the Water is Life campaign. This year we're excited to host:
~ Spoken Word with Fun Yung Moon

~ Music for the Heart with The Colibri Community
~ Handpan Music by Dan Mulqueen and Daniel Waples
~ Water Is Life: A Video Compilation by Aneta Ptak Rufino & Sadek Bazaraa
~ A Prayer for the Waters led by Brooke Gillespie and members of Dream Seed
~ Mantra Meditation guided by Amanda Capobianco

The Solstice and Equinox gatherings are always FREE of charge. We look forward to celebrating with you!
DANIEL WAPLES is truly a pioneer of the newly invented HandPan instrument and is arguably the most recognized player in his field. He is constantly travelling globally to share his passion and introduce his music to new listeners. His skills on the HandPan are self-taught, and many aspiring players often sight his technique and philosophy of composition as an inspiration. He works with different styles of music, mixing them and creating something new without it being a complete stereotype. Visit Daniel at http://hanginbalance.com/
DAN MULQUEEN is an American multi-percussionist from central New Jersey. His approach to the handpan has lead to a very distinct and recognizable sound that is very much on the side of beat heavy and head bouncing rhythms. His style comes from many years as a drummer of over 16 years playing in genres such as hip-hop, rock, reggae, trip hop, metal, jazz and more. You can hear phrasing and rhythmic influences from each of these genres in his handpan music. Visit Dan at http://www.danmulqueen.com/
