Sacred Chakana and Healing with Flowers

  • Golden Drum 97 Green St. G1 Brooklyn, NY, 11222 Unites States of America (map)

The oldest traditions built their knowledge on the basis of the message of symbols. The symbol in our culture links you to your origin, with the four directions and your center.

The Sacred Chakana in our tradition is the symbol of symbols, it's the orderer of inner and outer space, it is a bridge to your life, to your origin, to your history. It's related to the four sacred directions, the four altars, and the elements.

This ceremony also invokes the four divinities of tradition and MUNAY as healing energies. The sacred sound is the acoustic path that transports us and heals us.

Healing with Flowers is an ancestral ceremony of our tradition, which links us with nature and the sacred. It's a ceremony of blossoming, of rebirth, of bond with our inner world. We work with the sacred sound and the four altars of the tradition, also with the elements of nature and the four deities. With the petals of roses, the red color awakens the power of love in our lives, the white color for forgiveness and healing, and the yellow color to open our mind and link it with our feelings and our body. This is a ceremony that brings together MIND AND HEART.

Tito La Rosa is a descendant of Quechua Indians of the Peruvian Andes. For many years, he has been recovering and preserving, studying and intuiting the ancestral music of Peru. He is also a Curandero de Sonido, a sound healer, who enters into an altered state to bring forth sound that elevates, allowing for healing and balance to occur.

Ancient Andean wisdom teaches us that the earth was made while the creator sang, thus all beings are made of sound, rhythm, and harmony. Through his concerts, flower ceremonies and music classes La Rosa helps reawaken our memories (memoria antigua) - weaving sounds into frequencies that open the heart and encourage the spirit to soar.

La Rosa has recorded with Mary Youngblood on the Silver Wave record label. His 2002 CD, "The Prophecy of the Eagle and the Condor," was nominated for a Native American Music Award, for Best World Music Recording.
