Join us for an introduction to Tantra Yoga, with foundation of classical yoga and classical Kundalini Yoga, which will build upon experienced students’ knowledge and help them understand the evolution from Hatha to Kundalini Yoga including pranayama which are breathing techniques to generate prana, or life force energy. Our bodies are the vehicle which takes us to higher levels of consciousness and prana is the fuel that propels the rocket.

Who is Yogi Prakash?

Yogi Prakash, the founder and chairman of Shanti Yoga Ashram, a non-profit organization in Nepal, began studying yoga at the age of 12. Shanti Yoga Ashram is the only Tantra Yoga ashram in Nepal, located in Kathmandu Valley, which is known as the Land of Tantra. With 12 years of experience teaching yoga in Nepal, China, Thailand and Austria and his passion is to teach classical Tantra Yoga in a systematic manner in order to fully awaken human potential for the transformation of the self and the upliftment of society. Tantra is the ancient and often misunderstood science to awaken Kundalini energy. Tantra Yoga is the integral practice of all yoga systems that gradually takes you into deeper levels of consciousness through Hatha, Astanga, Mantra and Kundalini Yoga.

What is the teaching system and philosophy?

Yogi Prakash teaches classical Tantra Yoga, which emphasizes the development of power latent in the chakras in a systematic manner to enable the union with our highest consciousness. Tantra yoga starts with the gross level-body and gradually transitions to the subtle-level consciousness.
Hatha yoga enables meditation through the body, Astanga yoga is meditation through the mind, Mantra yoga is meditation through sound, Kundalini yoga is meditation through the chakras, and Shiva-Shakti yoga is meditation through the internal masculine and feminine energies. This evolutionary process generates energy and opens the mind. As the practice advances, the effect deepens, impacting the physical, vital, mental, psychic and finally the blissful body.

Yogi Prakash can teach at any level of practice and intuitively guides each class based on everyone’s needs. Kundalini yoga is gaining popularity because it is an intense practice that quickly generates results, however without a strong foundation (Hatha & Astanga) continuation of this practice can lead to problems on the mental and psychic levels. Kundalini Yoga with Yogi Prakash includes a foundation in Hatha and Astanga, ensuring that students will be physically and mentally prepared to handle the powerful awakening of Kundalini and they have a holistic understanding of the science of yoga.
